Black Lives Matter Statement

Professional Speakers Australia joins with the Global Speakers Federation, and its member associations, to add our voices as professional speakers to respect diversity, to condemn discrimination and violence of any form.

For more than 30 years, our members have been speaking on platforms and stages, in boardrooms and events of every size, supporting the meeting, events and conference industry across Australia. With this far-reaching influence, our core business is communication, and we want to use our words to help spread the message and provide meaningful support where we can for racial justice, equity and inclusion.

As an Australian association, with a belief in and adherence to the highest standard of ethics, we acknowledge that we are a part of a local and international community of people and our focus has and always will be to consider all aspects of diversity — including accessibility, gender and ethnicity.  This is evident in the people we work with and the way we operate our association.

Additionally, we will be meeting as a National Board to consider our current policies and approaches and will seek to identify opportunities for a fairer and more inclusive association.

If this has affected you, our members, in any way, we’re standing with you and will seek to understand how we can support you. Like most organisations we’re in a listening and learning phase, and welcome any ideas or suggestions from our members and our broader community.
